AT&T ads

Commentary summary:
AT&T's "You Will" advertising campaign exemplifies the techno-fetishism of early 90s technology ads

Text Commentary:

This montage of TV spots from AT&T's "You Will" advertising campaign highlights the utopian ideology of many technology ads in the early 1990s. As naive as these may seem to us now, the majority of these horizon technologies were predicted with remarkable precision less than 20 years ago. These ads are also exemplary of the shift from selling particular goods and services to the promotion of a lifestyle and ideology of futurism targeted at middle class white people.
