Desperate Journey
by ccManagerCommentary summary:
American airmen outwit the Nazis
Text Commentary:
The combat movie, a genre that had not been a Hollywood staple for many years, was rejuvenated after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Some of the initial World War II combat movies featuring Americans in uniform were just as absurd as the films that showcased Tarzan, the Invisible Man, Lassie and Sherlock Holmes triumphing over the enemy. In this film, for example, a bomber crew shot down over Germany has no difficulty outsmarting and evading its Nazi captors.
