In the early 21st century, gestural and voice interfaces are taken for granted as signifiers of the near future of human computer interaction. A bit more enigmatic - and problematic - is the adoption of African-American vernacular speech for the upper-middle class white suburban teenager of the near future, who alters his way of speaking when interacting with Ludacris on screen.
