Virtual Window Interactive is an interactive, media-rich elaboration on the historical analysis performed in Anne Friedberg's book from MIT Press, The Virtual Window. The project includes numerous media samples that could not be included or fully illustrated in the print book. We regard this project as an exemplar of fair use within media studies. Each video clip or image is accompanied by a text commentary and embedded in a larger historical context relating it to the viewing practices of a given age and systems of technological representation.
